Founder and President
Ron Frey
Ron started Frey Resource Group in 2010 with a passion to see clients become extraordinarily successful in fundraising.
In a career that now spans more than 40 years in donor development, he is known for his strategic insights, creative communication, and ability to help fundraising leaders achieve their goals.
He has consulted with more than 100 organizations, trained thousands, and benefited a wide-variety of nonprofits in the fields of international relief and development, education, health care, youth development, and spiritual transformation.
Ron has an MBA in Nonprofit Management from the University of Portland. He is married with three adult children, and enjoys golf and hiking scenic trails throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Project Management and Creative Services
Carey Chmarny
In the fall of 2010, Carey joined Frey Resource Group. She brings her extensive experience in project management, fundraising, marketing, public relations, and event coordination to this role. Prior to joining FRG, Carey was the Director of Annual Giving for a social service agency in Portland, Ore. She also served as a Marketing Specialist for a global grocery store chain in Torrance, Calif., and facilitated internal public relations for a high-tech firm in White Plains, NY.
Consultant
Dr John Seel
John Seel is an author, speaker, and cultural engagement strategist with extensive experience leading and managing nonprofit organizations.

​The son of medical missionaries in Korea, he brings personal and professional expertise in understanding culture and cultural change. He is an expert on the church’s missional outreach to the coming generation of young people and is the author of The New Copernicans: Millennials and the Survival of the Church, and Network Power: The Science of Making a Difference.
Over the course of his career, Seel has founded several significant nonprofit organizations including The Williamsburg Charter, The Trinity Forum, Society for Classical Learning, and the Council on Educational Standards and Accountability. Most recently, he was the Director of Cultural Engagement for the John Templeton Foundation in Philadelphia.

Seel has a Masters of Divinity degree from Covenant Theological Seminary and a Doctorate in American Studies from the University of Maryland (College Park). He serves on the board of the Windrider Institute and the advisory board of the New Canaan Society, Gutenberg College, and Renew the Arts.
He and his wife, Kathryn, have three grown children and live on a 250-acre historic farm in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania.
Graphic Designer
Jim Allison
Jim Allison is a Senior Graphic Design Specialist with 20+ years creative development and execution of print and digital marketing assets for start-ups, nonprofits, and fortune 500 companies. Jim regularly exercises excellent communication skills, results-oriented creativity, and a friendly demeanor that ensures clients experience a positive and productive process as well as effective outcomes. Jim is adept at logo creation, collateral development, packaging, presentation design, and web and digital media support.
